SoY Cosfest 2008 @ Ngee Ann (again, copy-pasted from personal blog)

It's been awhile. This was meant to be written two weeks ago. But then, thanks to killer projects and empty-outcomed exam papers, I hadn't much time for leisure. We even stopped playing badminton, me and my coursemates. And what's worst, the final submission for AI is due. God..

As always, after one paragraph of moaning, let's go the 'fun' part. Not really fun in my opinion, because it was destroyed by location. You will know what I mean soon enough. SoY 2008, short for Start of Year, is a cosplaying event held at Ngee Ann Poly sometime around late last month. Me, Shawn, Zech, Kok and Del went to manage Sticker no Tenchi. In order of positions following the above line-up, it's Noob Designer, Lead Designer, Manager, and Vice Manager. Del? He's 'I anything', so that's how he ended up with us for that trip.

We set off at around 9am, because we have to set up our booth by 11am, which was the time the event commenced. We reached the nearest MRT station and took a bus there, and dropped one stop earlier. What the hell. So anyway, we walked over to Ngee Ann. It's a beautiful place, with colourful buildings and even traffic lights inside the campus (THEY HAVE POWER SOCKETS UNDER THE BENCHES, ZOMG), but what the peeps don't like about Ngee Ann, it's anti-WoW, lols.

We reached the event area, and waited for directions to our booth. I had the information that we have Booth 14, the nearest booth to the stage. But guess what, they relocated the event to an LT (Lecture Theater), so our booth got relocated too. From having the most obvious booth, we got an oblivious booth now, with the same number. Zzz. Some management.

The traffic was bad, and the outcome, few sales. This is stupid. At least we covered the rental cost, I won't reveal any further, but it was stupid. Even Shawn got pissed, that's rare, but not so rare in DotA. Hehe. The cosplayers themselves are not bad, I managed to run around abit, but didn't get to see much because of lack of movement. So anyway, here are the pictures from the event. Enjoy, and til next time, ja ne~
